His career began in engineering development and mechanical design. As a tool design engineer, he worked extensively on high-precision technical solutions, FMEA, manufacturability, and traceable technical documentation.
This early stage shaped his technical foundation and sharpened his understanding that robust results do not emerge from abstract concepts alone. What matters is a precise view of function, interfaces, and quality, combined with close coordination between the relevant stakeholders. Particularly at the interfaces between technology, organisation, and people, it becomes clear whether a good solution can also be turned into successful execution.
As his level of responsibility increased, his focus shifted from individual technical solutions towards complete systems, teams, and organisations. In industrial system development and special-purpose machinery, he led technical teams, improved engineering processes, implemented variant management, and managed international development projects with cooperation partners in Asia.
He also initiated and supported PLM initiatives that specifically addressed processes and interfaces between engineering, production planning, and manufacturing. The central question was always how technical information, processes, and responsibilities could be structured in a way that effectively supports operational execution.
